Quake II Demo Rocks
This week id Software released the first public demo of Quake II, their much-anticipated
sequel to last year's most successful 3D shoot `em up, Quake. The new game is a return
to id's roots, providing improved single-player action and a better storyline, as
well as an extension of id's leading edge 3D game engine.
With the right hardware -- and that means a quality 3D video board -- Quake II provides
a dramatically improved visual experience over its predecessor. The game's all-new
bad boys are much more realistic and detailed, its lighting effects more varied and
subtle, and the overall environment is rendered so realistically, you can almost
feel it.
But Quake II is not just about hot graphics. The game play is smoother and faster,
with cool new weapons, and a well-structured landscape that requires players to coordinate
their movements between levels to win.
Quake II may be released before year end, but you can play the demo now. Hit http://bounce.to/RBLevin to get a copy for yourself.
