ATTN: SPACE ACE USERS

The latest version of SPACE ACE (1.0D) fixes 2 known bugs in the program.

1 - Some users with compressed hard drives reported Space Ace issues an
ERROR 53 at startup, then quits.

2 - Some users of Microsoft Internet Mail (part of IE302) and Hot Fax have reported the icons for these programs "disappear" after running Space Ace. Reinstalling the programs returns the icons. (Creating a new shortcut to the program's EXE should also work.)

Both bugs have been identified and fixed. The update, Space Ace version 1.0D, is now posted to http://bounce.to/RBLevin.

Please let me know if these or other problems exist in the updated Space Ace 1.0D release.

INFO FOR TECHIES: Space Ace is "Safe as Milk." It is _impossible_ for Space Ace to touch user data, programs, or Windows OS files; the code to do so just isn't there. In the case of the disappearing icons, only virtual shell icons were affected; the programs and user data were untouched. Some programs, such as MS Internet Mail, install icons in a non-standard, goofy way, using Registry CLSIDs, and not EXE pointers in Shortcut properties. The icons were purged because they were marked by Windows as "temporary." (Right-click MS Internet Mail's icons, and you'll see what I mean.)

Thanks!

R
