Giles Book

Real help for modem users...

"A BBS Caller's Guide to FirstClass"

...by Paolo G. Cordone, is launching Giles Road Press in good style. It was written primarily for BBS users, but I think you'll find there's a lot more to it than that.

This 200+ page book provides illustrated step by step procedures and reference material for users of SoftArc Inc's FirstClass Client software.

FirstClass Server is widely used by both commercial and non-commercial organizations as a basis for bulletin board systems (BBSes). The FirstClass Client software -- which is available for both Macintosh and Windows users -- is used to connect to these systems with SoftArc's excellent graphic user interface. Rather than concentrate on network users as SoftArc's brief Client manual does, "A BBS Caller's Guide to FirstClass" was written primarily for telecom users -- those who access FirstClass systems (like BBSes) via modem.

This book gives you everything you need to know to:

A comprehensive, up-to-date listing of FirstClass systems worldwide is also provided so readers can get online quickly with a FirstClass system nearby.

The author, Paolo G. Cordone is a Macintosh fanatic, software engineer, and typesetter. He has worked with Macintoshes since 1985 in Italy, Germany, England, and Ireland. He was a prolific contributor to the FirstClass-based BBS, MacTel Metro, in London. He is now co-administrator of ClubMac BBS, the BBS of the Dubl in Macintosh User Group.

"A BBS Caller's Guide to FirstClass" retails for $14.95 but is available through Giles Road Press for $12.00 (a 20% discount) plus shipping. Higher discounts are available for user groups, resellers, and consultancies based on quantities ordered; contact Giles Road Press for details or an order form.
