If you were unable to attend the Macintosh Users Networking Party on Thursday, November 19th, let me tell you what you missed. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been there to witness the biggest Macintosh event in Philadelphia in many years. It was hosted by Moore College of Art And Design, the User Group Alliance, the User Group Network, and the User Group Academy. |
Apple and Adobe sponsored the event, and both companies were demonstrating their newest hardware and software. In the atrium, Doug Brooks, Apple's representative, showed the new PowerBook 1400 with removable CD-ROM, the Performa 6400 w/Avid running full motion video, and the eMate 300. |

![]() In the auditorium, Jennifer Babik, of CyberSolutions, showed Adobe's newest applications, including PageMaker 6.5, PageMill 2.0, and Photoshop 4.0 on Moore's, new, Sharp projection system. |
Bill Achuff (UGAlliance) and Randy Zeitman, (both pictured on page 3) known
to most of you, were the event's co-coordinators. I guess it takes user groups to
do it after all. __ Other companies had representatives at the event, including Global Village showing their new TelePort Speakerphone voice/fax/modem, Keep It Simple Systems showed its solar panel for PowerBooks, and Tektronix talked about several of its many printer models. __ Those who arrived early were treated to a delicious Chinese feast, catered by China Pagoda on Samson Street. I say early, because food for two hundred people disappeared in less than thirty minutes. Some people got more than their share, others got...well, disappointed. I know that the organizers were disappointed that not everyone could enjoy. Next Page |
