| Good friends... good times! The 1999 Soiree, held at the Restaurant was the 5th under the User Group Academy sponsorship, and the 10th consecutive "UG Soiree" continued from the days of the America Online User Group Forum days. It's always a joyous occassion for all, and this year held several special points of interest. |

| __ Aside from the reading of the 1999 UG Academy awards (ALL of them) and the presentation of awards, certificates and special honors which could not be made at the breakfast due to time constraints, above we see Marvin and Bernardine Ginsberg of the MACS WEST USERS GROUP, Sun City West, Arizona -- displaying their award, and celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. (Congradulations and applause to Marvin and Bernardine!) This called for a special round of champaigne for everyone in the house, so UGAcademy ordered up bottomless glasses for a toast to all the winners, and then a second toast and round of applause for Marvin and Bernardine! | |

__ Then there was this group of party animals, special
guest Garr Reynolds (center) traveled all the way from Osaka, Japan to attend the
Soiree representing the Kinki Macintosh Users Group (Kinki is in western Japan) --
whew, what a trip. __ And who have latched onto Garr? None other than those wild and crazy guys from San Diego James Alguire and Ellen Cox -- who were showing off their Best UG Newsletter - 3rd Place Award! |

Above all, we'd like to thank all those who make their user groups what they are
today... and all those who continue to contribute to the user group community as
a whole. Without the generous and unfaltering work of many people the user group
community could not continue to grow and provide service to their memberships around
