iMovie: The Missing Manual

by David Pogue

I've read this book, cover to cover, twice. You see, I'm trying to decide whether or not to make the plunge into imovie making. Before the book, I would not even consider it because the rumor is you can't do it without a digital camcorder. HA! Pogue told me how to do it with a normal (or S-video) camcorder.

iMovie is a deceptively simple video-editing application that does not come with a printed manual. Even the online help is insufficient. Pogue treats us to hundreds of workarounds, "hidden" features, and creative ideas. With this book you can carry out some rather ambitious film projects.

Let me note: there are only two paragraphs dedicated to the assembly of static still images into an imovie -- a huge let down for me. You see, I would like to do children's books imovies, utilizing zooms and pans of the illustrations for visuals while reading the book into the audio.
