BabelColor Now Has Spectral tools

advanced color calibration and performance

The BabelColor Company launches Version-2.5 of BabelColor, now with Spectral tools.

The BabelColor Company has launched version 2.5 of "BabelColor", a color translator and analysis software designed for the Mac and Windows platforms.

BabelColor translates color data between nineteen pre-defined RGB (Red-Green-Blue) spaces, such as ProPhoto, Adobe (1998), and sRGB, one user-defined custom space, and FED-STD-595B and Munsell color chips. You can immediately see if there is a match, or get a color difference value using one of many color difference formulas, including the latest CIEDE2000, with the individual contributions of luminance, saturation and hue to the total color difference.

With version 2.5, it can now accept data from the Eye-One line of colorimeters and spectrometers sold by the GretagMacbeth Company. When used with an Eye-One Pro spectrometer, it offers over twenty new Spectral tools, transforming the Eye-One in a full featured densitometer, a powerful color-stability-under-various-lights analyzer (virtual light booth, color inconstancy, metamerism), a multi-purpose spectrum viewer, and into a unique instrument dedicated to the analysis of many viewing conditions (color monitors, light booths, transparency illuminators, and ambient light characteristics and quality) as per ISO 3664 and other standards.

Targeted users include: photographers, printing press operators, graphic and web designers, product designers, people involved with textile colors, colorimetry specialists, hobbyists, and anyone interested in translating and analyzing colorimetric data.
