Something about a Mac Pickup Man

installing a Mac Mini in your Pickup truck...

Joe Diffie sings...
"You can set my truck on fire, roll it down a hill; But I still wouldn't trade it for a Coupe DeVille; It's got an eight foot bed that never has to be made; You know if it weren't for trucks we wouldn't have tailgates; I met all my wives in traffic jams, You know there's something women like about a Pickup Man... "

Guys and gals who drive a pick-up will certainly want to "Macinize" it, and here's the low-down on how to do it...

Macinize your Pickup

Mac Mini in CarCar news site Leftlane News has a report on one Mac user's project to install a Mac mini in a Ford F-150. The user makes use of Apple's Front Row software and a Keyspan remote for easy navigation. He placed the Mini out of sight, and also installed a 10.2-inch LCD touch screen. The user also installed some GPS software to serve as a navigation system.

Some time ago a Washington Post article suggested that the Mac mini "...fits in the car's glove compartment." Later, it was reported that a New York-based company had plans to install the new Mac mini into car dashboards.

The Mac Mini is Apple's first desktop computer to sell for under $500. It's also the first desktop from Apple -- or any other source -- that comfortably fits in my car's glove compartment."....
