The Plugin Site has alerted us to their new Photo Galaxy 2300 -- a collection of more than 950 royalty-free digital photos on CD-ROM sorted into 118 different categories.
Photo Galaxy photos mainly consist of photo textures that were selected from a pool of a several thousand photos to ensure high quality. The photos can be used for a lot of different purposes, e.g. as material for graphics artwork or multimedia projects, as decoration for web sites, brochures, flyers or other print products, as desktop backgrounds and many other things.
Photo collections usually provide thousands of almost unusable low-resolution photos or with very few high-resolution photos at a high price. Photo Galaxy is different in two aspects. Unlike other photo collections it offers a wide range of high-resolution photos at an affordable price. Secondly, it is allowed to use the photos on a royalty-free basis, which means that the photos can be used for commercial purposes at no additional costs.
The Photo Galaxy CD-ROM contains 1000 photos divided into 118 different topics as follows: Balloons, Bark, Barrels, Blinds, Books, Branches, Brick, Brick_other, Cactus, Canvas, Carpet, Ceiling, Clothes, Clouds, Clouds_dense, Clouds_rare, Clouds_sun, Coal, Coffee, Curtain, Door, Drops, Drops_big, Engine, Fabric, Facade, Fan, Fence, Fire, Fireworks, Fish, Flakes, Floor, Flowers, Flowers_fractal... and the list goes on and on!
The most impressive among the 118 categories of Photo Galaxy 2300 are: Brick, Cactus, Canvas, Clouds, Coal, Coffee, Drops, Fire, Fireworks, Gems, Ice crystals, Leather, Lights, Marble, Metal, Oldpaper, Plastic, Pool, Relief, Smeared, Sparks and Sunflower.
The photos are provided as high quality JPG files at a size of 2272 x 1704 pixel (which is approx. 6 x 8 inches or 15 x 20 cm at 300 dpi respectively 8.5 x 11 inches or 21 x 29 cm at 200 dpi). The photos were taken in different places in the USA, Spain and Germany. All photos have been manually corrected for optimum color, contrast, brightness and perspective. The product also includes contact sheets and a HTML album for providing a better overview of the photos.
The Plugin Site also created the ColorWasher, FocalBlade, Plugin Galaxy, Plugin Commander, Edge & Frame Galaxy, HyperTyle, Harry's Filters and HTML Shrinker products. We co-produced Alpha Magic with Hollywood FX and Pinnacle and also co-develop the FilterMeister plugin development environment with AFH Systems.cts.
