FileMaker Pro 7 gets Automized


Troi File Plug-in 3

Troi Automatisering today announced the availability of the first public beta version of Troi File Plug-in 3.0, for FileMaker Pro 7. Troi File Plug-in 3.0b1 makes use of the new extended plug-in API of FileMaker 7. Calls to the plug-in's functions can now support Unicode and more and bigger parameters.

At the same time Troi is releasing Troi File Plug-in 2.8. This version makes use of the 'classic' plug-in API. Users that upgrade to FileMaker 7 but don't yet want to rewrite their scripts calling the File Plug-in functions can use this version. The 2.8 version also runs on FileMaker 6 and 5.x.

What is Troi File Plug-in?

Troi File Plug-in is a very powerful tool for getting access to information outside the FileMaker Pro database. Any files or folders stored on the computer can be accessed through the functions of the plug-in. All from within FileMaker you can:

A Windows version of the plug-in is expected to be available before 19 July 2004.

Fully functional versions of Troi File Plug-in 3.0b1 and Troi File Plug-in 2.8 are available for downloading at Troi's web site at: www.troi.com

Troi File Plug-in 3.0b1 works with FileMaker Pro 7. The plug-in should also run without problems with runtimes from FileMaker Developer 7. The plug-in is currently only available for Mac OS X (10.2.8 or later). We expect to release a Windows beta version of Troi File Plug-in 3.0 before 19 July 2004.

Troi File Plug-in 2.8 works with FileMaker 5 and later. The plug-in is available for Mac OS 9.1 or later, including Mac OS X (10.1.5 or later), and for Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4), or Windows XP. The plug-in should also run without problems on any machine that is able to run FileMaker Pro 4.0, FileMaker Pro 4.1 and runtimes from FileMaker Developer Edition 4.0 and later.

Licenses cost US$ 59 per user. The registration you receive after paying the license fee will work with version 3.0b1 as well as with version 2.8!
