Bush Calls For Broadband For All By 2007

Why would he want this? Something like 20% of the market says that they don't have any need for broadband and never will. Hopefully this means that prices will come down. We could all use a break in our living expenses. And for some of us, broadband is a necessity. Full story at: computerworld.com

Apple Computer Ads Draw Criticism From Watchdog

Not that it makes much difference now but following up on a complaint from Dell, the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, commonly known as NAD has recommended that Apple stop comparative ads. Specifically they are talking about Apple's ads on the introduction of the G5 saying that it was the first 64 bit personal computer ever. Apple said that the advertising campaign was complete, but would be mindful of NAD's views in the future. Read more...

Apple seeks patent on GUI in iPOD

Apple's patently ridiculous headphone stance

Silicon.com also mentioned the patent application and called it smart, however, they had nastier things to say about comments an Apple person made about iPOD headphones being a mugger magnet. The specific comment was "People would rather be robbed than wear something less stylish." Read more...

Not an April Fools joke, Google 1 GIG Mail

The catch here is that each message you receive will contain advertising to "match" the message. That is Google's bot will search your messages for keywords and then add advertising to them. Guess there is a price to pay for "Free". Read Google's side at: Google Press and Siliconvalley.com
