iTunes Resources

I have mentioned About.com a number of times in this column, but it was years ago. I just came across their iTunes Resource area. They have a link to AppleScripts for iTunes and how to lists. The lists include controlling the visualizer, converting file formats, copying songs from iPod to Mac or PC, creating gap-free tracks and more. Check it out at: macs.about.com

Apple #4

A number of outlets reported last week that for the 2nd quarter of 2005. It was beat out in order by Dell, HP and Gateway. It replace IBM PC's new owner Lenovo for the #4 spot. This was accomplised by haveing a 35% growth in Mac sales compared to 19% for the personal computer industry as a whole. More details at: www.webpronews.com

Apple Set For Continued Market-Share Gains

In a Forbes article a market analyst, Piper Jaffray says that he expects Apple's computer market share to continue to goal due to the iPod-to-Mac carry over. (Commonly called the "halo-effect".) Car run by Tiger

Several years ago, there was a plane at Oshkosh that was controlled by a Mac Plus. Now we have a car controlled using Mac OS X. Which is certainly less scary than using Windows.
      Team Banzai is one of just 40 teams from around North America to have made it through to the semi-finals of the 2005 DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) Grand Challenge. The team's fully equipped 2004 V6 Volkswagen Touareg (U.S. production version) with full-time all-wheel drive (dubbed "Dora") is actually driven by Apple's Mac OS X running on Power Mac G5s. Apple given greater consideration by enterprise

A Canadian publication called Computer Dealer News has this article about how after several years of trying dealers are now selling Macs as servers to companies other than graphic businesses. Sounds like a great deal for Apple. Read the full story at: tbusiness.ca

Videocue

Videocue is software for tele-prompting but also does recording and publishing. With the tele-promting part, you can read. This will help to create audio and video blogs that look professional. (Cut out those uh's and "you know" phrases.) The basic package is quite reasonable at $39.99. The Pro package at $89.99 adds support for green/blue screen, support of multiple cameras, titling, and mirrored prompting.
