Google agreed to purchase dMarc Broadcasting Inc. of Newport Beach, Calif.,which creates an automated platform that lets advertisers more easily schedule and deliver ads over radio and keep track of when they air.
Through September, Google had $7.6 billion in cash and marketable securities, though it has since committed to making a $1 billion investment in America Online unit. Google said it plans to integrate the dMarc technology with its highly successful Google AdWords platform, in which third-party Web sites share revenues with Google for carrying the Mountain View., Calif., company's highly profitable search ads. Late last week, The Wall Street Journal among others reported that Disney and Pixar were in talks aimed at Disney purchasing Pixar. It this comes off, Steve Jobs will be Disney's largest shareholder. That would make quite a profit for Steve who only paid $10 million to Lucas when he purchased what was to become Pixar. (Rumored price to be over $7 Billion.) ... see the full story...
Apple Computer on Tuesday reported that its profit in the latest quarter quadrupled, buoyed by strong sales of Macintosh computers and demand for its newest iPod -- but that wasn't good enough for Wall Street. Its shares fell more than 10 percent in after-hours trading apparently because the company's revenues and earnings for its fiscal fourth quarter did not wildly exceed expectations.
Apple shipped 1.2 million Macintosh computers and 6.45 million iPods during the quarter, a jump of 48 percent in Mac sales and 220 percent growth in iPods, compared with a year earlier. The Macintosh business was 50 percent of its total revenue with 1.2 million Macs sold, its second-highest ever for a quarter.
Apple had projected that sales for the quarter would be flat compared with a year earlier because of possible uncertainties related to its eventual shift of its Mac computers to Intel processors. ... see the full story...
TG Daily interviewed Intel's director of marketing for software development products, James Reinders during MacWorld Expo. In it, he says that developers for the MacTel machines will have to learn more than just the jump to a new processor, but they will also have to learn how to use duo core processors. So it may be more difficult that would first appear to take full advantage of the processor. Read more...

Dave Winer, is saying that Apple's RSS feed is completely in compatible with any RSS reader other than NetNewsWire and Safari, despite Steve Jobs claims to the contrary in his Keynote at Expo. If true, then Windows users would not be able to access. I haven't tried it myself, have you? Read more...
When I was working at RadioShack, I became familiar with iSupply Corp's ability to study electronic devices and not only determine what was inside the product, but to determine its cost. In this case, they have determined that the new iMac costs about $873. If this is true, it would be one of the best margin's Apple has had in its machines. The FBI has made the above claim. They calculated the cost from a survey of 2,066 organizations. The results of the survey showed that 64 percent, suffered a financial loss from computer security problems over a 12-month period.
The average cost per company was more than $24,000, with the total cost reaching $32 million for those surveyed. To get the $67 billion cost, they estimated that only 20% of US businesses actually were effected.
By comparison, telecommunication fraud losses are about only $1 billion a year, according to the U.S. Secret Service. Most common of the problems was computer virus even though the companies used protective software.
