MySpace.com Fights Back...

Just because MySpace is getting a lot of bad press doesn't mean the owners aren't working hard to increase traffic and change some of that bad press into good press... the media was hot this week on reporting on the moves to make MySpace safe

Video iPod advertisement from Conan O'Brien

I put together a CD with 18 of the old parodies on it for a door prize at our CMUG meeting last Tuesday evening. Then our disk librarian showed up with this one. This is a funny ad done in the "Apple Style" for a video iPod. (Direct Download) ... O'Brien's show is on iTunes.

The RIAA says you have to delete all your files first. Of course, if you don't and the new owner ever hooks it up to a different computer it will probably get deleted. (See why I wonder about the previous article?) Read more...

Forrester: "Apple could double market share"

In the report, they say that only Apple and Tivo had trust in their brands rise in the last two years. The report also said that many people do not equate iPod with Apple. Interesting isn't it. ... see the full story...

Tara, a blogger on Blogger.com has written this very interesting article on customizing your personal home page on Google. Google has offered the home page for some time now, but Tara goes into greater depth on how to make it a portal and there really is a lot of customizing available that I wasn't aware. For example, you can add ANYRSS feed. Even those from UGNN. See the article

On Life

I "Stumbled On" this page last Friday evening while preparing this column.
Onlife is an application for the Mac OS X that observes your every interaction with apps like Safari, Mail and iChat and then creates a personal shoebox of all the web pages you visit, emails you read, documents you write and much more. It then indexes the shoebox so that it is searchable and lets you tag content using hot keys. It really sounds like it could become useful, since it works with over 15 applications with more coming. At last, someone had some creative inspiration. Of course it really wasn't creative genius -- all they had to do is ask "What really sucks about Tiger's Folder Actions?" and they probably got ten-thousand answers.
