LEE GOMES in this article takes exception to that idea and says actually, what is needed is a single visionary dictator. Like Steve jobs. Then even WinTel could win.
MSNBC and Steve talk about the new New York Apple "cube" store -- Of course, you can only view the interview on a PC. But it would seem to me that most people wanting to see Steve would own Macs. But Steve is trying to convert PC users. It won't hurt if they run Boot Camp I guess.
Message I got was: "This product requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, Microsoft Media Player 10, and Macromedia Flash 6. To download these free software applications, click the links below and follow the on-screen instructions." Of course, IE is no longer supported on the Mac. The interview is at: msnbc.msn.com

MacMod.com will tell you how. It does involve using cables and downloading a utility that unlocks the ability to use the second monitor. (Really stupid for Apple to lock us out of that one.) (Read More)
As you know, Macs are frequently used in a research setting. I remember when I was in Honolulu, one of my Apple user group members had a wife who did medical research. She always requested a new Mac when writing her proposals for grants. Makes sense to me. The latest machine will get the job done faster. Macresearch.org even has a library of scripts to use to make thing move more smoothly. Some of the disciplines covered are: Astronomy, Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Cognitive Science, Ecology, Oceanography and Physics. www.macresearch.org

Now, it is being turned into a downloadable audio book. The catch there is that it is being done in small segments. The good part is that at least part of the segments are told by the people who experienced the story, not someone just reading the book. (The bad part is they are generally poorly read and not near the level of consumer audio books.) Also available as RSS feeds and Podcasts. folklore.trideja.com

Nikon, had already announced that they were going to discontinue most models that are sold to the general public and only sell a few "pro" lines.
An interactive computer display that keeps track of multiple users by differentiating between their touch could lead to safer vehicle controls and smarter video games, its makers claim. The DiamondTouch (DT) system US, consists of a touch-sensitive screen that can be operated by several users simultaneously. By distinguishing between different users, the system can track a person's input and control their access to certain functions. This is done by providing an antenna in the chair of the user. I could see this used to limit access to controls in a car, or even to provide multiple entries in an application in a conference room. See a video of a demonstration (Read More)
