
Sony has introduced a new portable e-mail/MP3/video device aimed at 18 to 22 year olds, and people who use instant messaging as a primary means of communication.
It is from Sony's Vaio computer division, it is WiFi enabled and allows Web browsing, e-mail, instant messaging, MP3, video and Skype. Sounds like a decent college device. CEA says that home and portable audio sales rose to $4.68 billion in the US for the first six months of the year. However they do point out that MP3 player sales only grew 43.3 percent compared to 119% for the same period last year. The home market has actually dropped. Fanatic.Net used to be a great source for getting old Apple commercials and other video. They decided however to turn their podcasts into just an audio cast and moved their videos to the web and now run that as a separate RSS feed. Saying that it would cost to much and take to long to make a Universal Version of Virtual PC, Microsoft announced that they would discontinue the development of the Mac version. For some reason, they didn't find it to costly to make the switch to a PC version after they bought the software from Connectix. (Read More)

At the WWDC Microsoft announced that they would be dropping support for Visual Basic for Applications on the Mac. The new version of Office will be able to open files with VBA macros in them, they just wouldn't be able to edit or run those macros. Read more at the following blogs:
