UGN 2001 MACWORLD NEW YORK COVERAGE

Tuesday Morning User Groupscontinued from previous ...

User Group Breakfasts Feature Corel and Adobe

Bright and early Wednesday morning the mezzanine of the New Yorker Hotel swamped with a full house of UG ambassadors. They came to attend and enjoy the first ever UG Breakfast sponsored by Corel Corporation.

Corel struts their stuff...
a refreshing wake-up for UG Breakfast attendees

Corel duz its thingThose who were expecting a tired old PC program ported to the Mac got a real wake-up when Corel showed some of the wonderfully awesome features of their new suite of programs.
___ Creative amateurs and professionals alike were blown away with presentations of Bryce5, the killer 3D realistic rendering program. The all new CorelDRAW 10, rolled out with a pile of new features under Carbonized OSX strength. Corel's suite of professional graphic tools was fully documented in the packages awaiting each attendee.

Fine artists got a helpful dose of inspiration when Cher Threinen-Pendarvis, author of the Painter WOW book, put her considerable talents on display in the world's only true 'natural media' simulator Painter 7.
___ The big news, announced by Rhonda Fargo, Corel Product Marketing Manager, was a name change for the Corel professional graphics line to: ProCreate! (Of course everyone got a TShirt emblazoned with the new ProCreate.com URL, and a blue bunny logo! )

Thursday Morning
Adobe WOW

with the fabulous new kid on the block: Photoshop Elements

Thursday morning's breakfast, sponsored by Adobe, raised the bar of excitement to another packed house of enthusiastic UG officers and members. This year seemed to be the biggest crowd ever - so large in fact that Adobe moved the buffet line out into the lobby to accomodate the crowd in the ballroom.
___ Anyone who has attended Adobe breakfasts in the past knows they put on a delicious buffet, but unlike some years in the past, this year even the stand-by attendees were able to join the event first class.

Adobe Presenters give out door prizesAs usual Adobe had a superbly orchestrated presentation beginning with Premier, and moving right into the new baby on the block Photoshop Elements.
___ Terry White knocked everyone out (as usual) with tips and features of the top publishing programs set to real-world applications that UG officers could really relate to. (This is the only company ever attending Macworld who actually tailors the program to the specific audience of user groups. Hats off to Adobe and Terry White, Adobe spokesperson and active officer in the Mac Detroit UG!)

Bravo! Everyone left the breakfast with a shrink-sealed copy of Photoshop Elements! WOW!

Next, Apple hosts the final breakfast...
