LAUSD to Host International Educators Event

TechEd 2006, the 11th Annual Technology in Education International Conference & Tech Exposition, will kick off four days of intense activity starting March 26 at the historic Pasadena Conference Center in sunny Southern California. This year is promising to be the best yet, featuring over 250 concurrent sessions and over 200 exhibitors all focusing on cutting edge solutions to real-world problems facing our education community every day.

Los Angeles Unified School District, the biggest K Ð 12 district in the nation, is joined by Chaffey Community College and DeVry University in hosting this year's conference Ð highlighting the importance of technology at all levels of the education community.
      "We are proud to have LAUSD, Chaffey Community College and DeVry University helping us achieve the mission of TechEd, a project of The Community College Foundation," said William Neece, TechEd Conference Director, "which is to bring together leaders from the education and technology industry to share ideas about cutting edge technologies, innovated solutions, best practice, and real-world trends that are impacting and enhancing the learning environment."

For 11 years, TechEd has provided a hands-on, innovative environment for professionals to learn about the issues facing the future of education with a combination of extraordinary interactive workshops and exciting technology exhibits.

"The emphasis this year is on providing education in the areas of IT Security, eLearning, Mobile Technology and Adaptive Technology for students with special needs," added Mr. Neece. "We will have the largest single concentration of educators and technology gurus together on the West Coast. It really is an extraordinary event that is not to be missed!"

TechEd is a program of the Community College Foundation, which since 1983 has been dedicated to serving education and community through outstanding practices, creative initiatives and entrepreneurial spirit.
