WYSIWYG website creation tool

ShutterBug V2.3 from XtraLean Software

XtraLean Software has rolled out the latest release of its WYSIWYG website creation tool, ShutterBug V2.3. This version dramatically improves the quality of images with the new image processing engine and the addition of filter controls to adjust the sharpness, brightness, contrast and saturation of images. Other exciting new features include enhanced HTML output, LightBox, plus more. ShutterBug V2.3 can be tried for free and is available for immediate download from XtraLean's website.

ShutterBug's new image processing capability produces sharper images and greatly improves the quality of photos for displaying on the web. New filter controls include sharpness, brightness, contrast, and saturation. Users can easily adjust these settings using the slider bars and apply the settings to just the thumbnail image only, or to both the thumbnail and the original image, or to all photos in the same album all at once, easily and quickly with a simple click of a button.

Dramatic improvements have also been made to the HTML output of ShutterBug sites to produce faster and smoother slideshows, as well as to offer the option of adding the popular and elegant LightBox script to selected pages. This new HTML output utilizes the latest browser technology while still maintaining backward compatibility with older browser versions. ShutterBug will automatically update existing sites with the optimized and enhanced HTML output the next time users export their sites with V2.3.

Based on user feedback, this new version also leverages other modern web technologies such as iPhoto '08 and iMedia Browser compatibility, and an additional option for looping QuickTime Xtras. Additionally, the new "Replace Image" feature allows users to quickly replace an existing image with another image on their computer. This control automatically replaces the image, making it very handy for switching out images, while keeping the same caption as well as the filtering attributes that the previous image had.

Both new and existing users will benefit from these new features that optimize existing sites, while masking the complexities for first-time users, making it easy to produce high-quality websites that will work on all modern browsers without any need for technical know-how. Existing users can take advantage of all of these new features by simply exporting their sites with V2.3. New users can begin discovering the benefits immediately with the compact 2.8 MB download available to try for free.

ShutterBug requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or better and is a Universal Binary for both Intel-based Mac and Power PC support. ShutterBug supports .Mac, WebDAV, FTP/SFTP, and Export to a Folder.

A full-featured demo version of ShutterBug can be tried for free and is available immediately from XtraLean's website. A registration key can be purchased for only $39.95 CAD.
