Comic Banned from iTunes

rejected from the iTunes App Store

The first digital comic for iPhone/iPod touch to be banned from the iTunes App Store is MURDERDROME, a darkly humorous strip posted for free on the store and rejected due to contravening Apple's content guidelines.

Infurious Comics are therefore making a plea to Apple to add the same age categories to their books/comic sections as they have in their games and music sections. We have extensive support from the industry in this and would welcome a change in the current store in order to make sure that content is categorised appropriately.

Owing to a surge of public interest due to coverage on the premier comics blogs and columns, there has been incredible interest in the application from both professional comic creators and amateurs alike including an upswell of support due to the recent ban. Infurious' team have already secured another script and art and will be submitting another comic written and drawn specifically for the iPhone/iPod touch to the App Store in the next few days and has commitments from established creators for exclusive content.

"The big win for our business model is that the creation of the reader application, although sophisticated, is also simple. Comic creators can submit their media to Infurious and we handle the processing and build of the application and submission to the App Store. We take a small percentage of cover price, Apple take their standard 30% and the creators retain rights and start earning with the very first sale."

Our Comic Reader application demonstrates it's sophistication by adding support for layers, permitting the comics enthusiast to view the inks, pencils and original art for the final comic as well as providing a satisfying reading experience.
