Do you need barcodes?

Barcode Producer for Mac OS X

Do you need to generate barcodes? Intelli Innovations' Barcode Producer 4.5 is a major update to its award-winning barcode creation software suite for Mac OS X. The new release offers new features and enhancements for designing vector barcode graphics in EPS, PDF, and TIFF formats. Barcode Producer features an intuitive user experience for creating barcodes visually, with one-click export for Adobe Creative Suite products, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat Distiller.

"Barcode Producer remains the definitive industry standard for powerful, easy-to-use barcode software on Mac OS X," said Paul Scandariato, CTO, Intelli Innovations, Inc. "Our newest release supports Apple's Pages '08 software, which continues to grow in popularity for page design, and brings new barcode symbologies and graphical design features to our customers."

BarCode

Barcode Producer 4.5 includes these major new features:

- Pages '08 Integration: Barcode Producer's vector EPS barcodes can now be used with Pages '08, part of Apple's recently revised iWork suite.

- Barcode Templates: Barcode Producer now supports file templates, acting as starting points for new barcodes based on existing designs.

- CMYK Color Picker: Barcode Producer now has its own custom CMYK color picker, allowing users to set a specific color value while utilizing an end-to-end CMYK color workflow.

- EPS Direct Open Support: Barcode Producer can now open and edit vector EPS barcode files. This highly requested feature allows users to make modifications to existing barcodes for value modifications and other changes, without having to redesign the barcode from scratch.

- GS1-128, a special case of Code 128, GS1-128 is a new supported symbology. GS1-128 is unique to many other symbologies in that its values are composed of sets of information called element strings. Each element string is composed of a 2-4 digit application identifier and a data field.

GS1-128 barcodes are often used for identification numbers, traceability numbers and dates, measurements and quantities, transaction and location references, retail coupons, and internal company codes. Barcode Producer has a specialized symbology editor for GS1-128 barcodes, allowing users to enter and move identifier/data field sets with a highly intuitive interface.

- Light Margin Indicators: Now supported on ISBN, ISMN, and ISSN symbologies.

- Add-On Spacing: EAN and UPC barcodes now have options for controlling the distance between the main barcode and the price extension.

- Human Readable Text Control: Barcode Producer now allows the human readable portion of the barcode to be hidden for EPS and TIFF exports.
