Hess Macworld Events Page Goes Live - Of course you already knew that Mac/Internet Consultant and Writer, Ilene Hoffman, has hosted the Hess Memorial Macworld Events/ Party list for several years. Well, she's posted the site with every party and press function scheduled during Macworld Expo week in San Francisco, Jan. 8th through January 13th.
__ Ilene wants everyone to know that the list can include your events if info is sent to ileneh@aol.com or Press@ilenesmachine.com. She's also looking for any special booth information, such as contests, cool free toys, or book signings, etc., and she'll include them on the Fun Stuff to See at the Show page.
__ (Ilene Hoffman was the 1998 User Group Academy "User Group Hero of the Year" Award winner.) - Thanks to: UGNN for sending this in. File this one under: Macworld Expo For more info go to: http://www.ilenesmachine.com/partylist.html

Pixelpalooza 2001 Begins - The web's premiere source for freeware Mac icons, The Iconfactory is proud to announce that its 5th annual icon design contest, Pixelpalooza has begun and is now accepting submissions.
__ Pixelpalooza offers aspiring icon artists an opportunity to strut their stuff both for the Macintosh platform and for the icon community at large. Last year's contest garnered over 126 entries from around the world and awarded prizes in three categories - 2D, 3D and System Replacement. This year a new, fourth category has been added OSX. Now icon designers will have a chance to push the envelope of icon creation for Mac OS X and show the world just what is possible in a 128x128 pixel grid.
__ The contest runs from December 1st, 2000 until February 1st. with winners announced on Valentine's Day.
__ Prizes will be awarded to Grand Prize, Runner Up and People Choice winners in each of the four entry categories. One lucky grand prize winner will surf away with the Official Iconfactory Tangerine iBook loaded with every icon we've ever produced, some never released to the public.
__ Download the latest contest submissions. The contest entry pages will be updated daily from now until the end of the contest. People's Choice voting begins on February 2nd, 2001 and runs through Feb. 12th. - Thanks to: The Icon Factory for sending this in. They'll build your 3D charts for you! - Here's a great idea for ALL computer users -- afree service which creates business graphics for you (with correct 3D effects). As a graphic designer I know how tough it is to create really nice charts based on data. Generally it takes a lot of time to build something 3D with Illustrator, even after exporting the tacky charts generated by Excel and the like. Everyone can't be an information/data illustrator. Then there's always the typical customer who wants the data changed (again) 30 minutes before printing deadline.
__ Konstantin Pribluda has produced tool that creates pie and tower charts online. Key your data in, select colors, lighting effects and in one minute it's ready. This is very, very cool. - Thanks to: Konstantin Pribluda for sending this in. File this one under: DTP Helpers: plug-ins, filters, enhancements, etc. For more info go to: http://www.pribluda.de/povray/
