Hot-Swap Disk-to-Disk Backups
Granite Digital from Relax Technology
Granite Digital Announces the first "FireWire 800" 1394b Hot-Swap "Disk-To-Disk" Backup Storage System capable of speeds up to 80MB/s.
Granite Digital, manufacturer of 1394 "FireWire" storage solutions and cables built the new IEEE 1394b (FireWire 800) to be standard with their new Hot-Swap "Disk-to-Disk" Backup Storage System. With this announcement, Granite becomes the first manufacturer to ship a Disk-to-Disk Backup System that takes advantage of the new higher speeds (80MB/s) associated with 1394b.
Granite has designed this new FireVue line of Hot-Swaps with speed and reliability in mind. Using inexpensive IDE Drive Trays these systems allow quick adding or removing of hard drives. The added versatility of the Hot-Swap Systems makes storage limitations a thing of the past. Libraries of hard drives can be safely stored and accessed at any time but best of all these drives are on-line and can even be used to boot a computer in an emergency.
Granite models include:
- Hot-Swap System w/ one Tray (no drive) $309.00
- Hot-Swap System w/ one Tray (120 Gig 7200 rpm drive) $458.95
- Hot-Swap System w/ one Tray (200 Gig 7200 rpm drive) $588.95
- Additional Hot-Swap Trays (hold any 3.5" hard drive) $29.95
