Chuck Joiner from the MUG Center has posted some clips and info from the User Group University and Macworld.
The Adobe User Group Breakfast on Thursday morning at Macworld drew an enthusiastic crowd to the Argent hotel to see an Adobe all-star team of presenters show off the new Adobe Creative Suite. Led by Terry White, the team of Dave Helmly, Colin Smith, Sebastian Distefano and Adam Pratt took one project, and used the professional-level tools to demonstrate not only their integration, but also their new features. As an added bonus for the early-rising attendees, each person left with a copy of Adobe Acrobat Standard.
The User Group Lounge at Macworld Expo was a center of user group activity at the first two days of the show. Not only did the folks from the old BMUG show up and offer some free collectable items for attendees to take back to their groups, but the guest slate has been drawing up to, and beyond, capacity crowds. Author David Pogue of The New York Times and the "Missing Manual" series from O'Reilly and Shawn King of Your Mac Life had the house packed, while other guests spoke to more specialized audiences.
The seventh User Group University (UGU) opened the week's Macintosh User Group events at Macworld Expo in San Francisco. [The UGU is held twice each year at Macworld San Fran and New York.) The The day-long seminar for user group leaders and activists was the largest ever, with over 200 attendees gathering to hear presentations from user group community leaders, a professional leadership coach and Apple presenters. The day opened with a keynote address by Macworld Contributing Editor Christopher Breen, and ended with a reception featuring many of the vendor sponsors of the event.
