Lightwave plug-in for Poser Pro

powerful, yet easy-to-use 3D character design

Smith Micro has released a new PoserFusion Lightwave plug-in for Poser Pro. Smith Micro developed Poser Pro with a feature set and functionality geared for professional content creators within studio and production environments. The new plug-in will be free to registered Poser Pro users and will allow integration of 3D figures and scenes into Newtek's Emmy Award-winning Lightwave application to create professional images and animations.

"From the most basic illustration project to complicated film, video or design projects, customizing and integrating Poser figures is easy and affordable, especially compared to in-house 3D character development," said Steve Cooper, Product Marketing Manager, Graphics Solutions for Smith Micro Software. "With the new PoserFusion plug-in, Lightwave users will be able to quickly load Poser Pro scenes into their projects, giving them access to our character animation tools and the vast amounts of 3D content developed by artists in the online Content Paradise community."

The new PoserFusion plug-in will allow Lightwave users to integrate full Poser Pro scenes inside Lightwave version 9.3 or 9.5. The plug-in supports all aspects of the 3D Poser Pro scene including animation, lighting, camera data, textures, props and dynamics, as well as supporting Poser's sophisticated character bending methods of fully rigged 3D figures.

Poser Pro delivers powerful, yet easy-to-use 3D character design and animation tools that help artists integrate custom and pre-built characters into professional projects and production pipelines. Poser Pro lets artists fine tune light, shadow, color and detail on figures, and ships with distributable 3D characters that are specially designed to provide a starting point for scene development, thereby saving production time. For comprehensive content and creation, Poser Pro offers the sophisticated character functionality and features of many higher priced products on the market.

All registered Poser Pro full version users will qualify for free download and use of the PoserFusion Lightwave plug-in, available at http://my.smithmicro.com/downloads/. The Windows version of the plug-in is available immediately. The Mac version is scheduled to release on August 20, 2008. As with all the Poser Pro hosting plug-ins, a valid installation of Poser Pro is required.

The MSRP for Poser Pro is $499.99. The application is available at the Smith Micro web store at www.smithmicro.com/poserpro, and at select resellers and distribution partners worldwide.
