Showtime Gets CS3

Showtime Networks Selects Adobe Creative Suite 3

Showtime Networks Inc. has implemented Adobe© Creative Suite© 3 Design Premium edition across its in-house creative agency, The Red Group. After successfully switching to Adobe InDesign© software several years ago to produce its print marketing materials, The Red Group's staff of 80 will now use the efficient, highly integrated tools in Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium to design and produce its marketing campaigns. The Red Group produces 2,000 to 2,500 print advertising pieces and marketing materials annually.

By standardizing on Adobe Creative Suite 3, The Red Group joins a world-wide community of creative design firms using Adobe products to produce integrated, multi-component marketing campaigns. Currently, The Red Group is producing a print campaign to promote the second season of the top-rated Showtime original drama series Dexter. Components of the campaign include consumer ads in magazines, newspapers, billboards and bus shelters. The campaign also includes corporate communications, marketing, and public relations materials, such as press kits, direct-mail pieces, point-of-sale campaigns and posters.

"The tight product integration among Adobe Creative Suite 3 applications, the superior stability of InDesign, helpful product training, and Adobe's reputation all contributed to our decision to implement Creative Suite 3 Design Premium across our creative agency," said Paul Nicholson, vice president of print and broadcast production for Showtime. "The ability to seamlessly combine the creative tools that we use every day in one comprehensive workflow is tremendous and fuels the productivity and creativity of our design process."

The enhanced features of Adobe Creative Suite 3 simplify workflows and speed production of marketing materials for The Red Group. In addition to InDesign CS3, The Red Group uses Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended for high-end photo retouching and compositing, and Adobe Illustrator CS3 for line art, logo creation and title treatments. Improved performance in Adobe Bridge CS3 helps The Red Group organize and view assets more efficiently, while support for Adobe XMP metadata in Bridge enables smooth integration with Showtime's custom asset management system.

"Entertainment marketing has evolved to become a showcase for highly creative marketing campaigns, and Showtime is at the forefront of the market demonstrating how it can be done," said Mark Hilton, vice president of Creative Suite product management at Adobe. "Adobe CS3 Design Premium is the perfect creative software solution to support the creativity and collaboration required to make complex campaigns, involving many types of media, successful."
