UGN Spam Trackers follow stock scams purveyed in spam
Following the 60-Second Window article we began tracking spam that promotes stocks. Here is the report for the week ending on March 20th, 2006
The week March 27 through April 2 received 119 stock scam spams bringing the year total to 644. Top scammer, spammer "Nano SuperLattice" is back in the top spam slot along with "Ever-Glory" who makes a return after a 6-week hiatus. Taking weeks off then coming back strong reinforces the criminal aspects of these spammers.
UGN Reader M.S. from Portland, Oregon writes in to say:
Ever-Glory International, whom you noted on your web site, continues to pump their penny stocks via spam email -- They have spoofed my email and I get hundreds of bounce backs every day -- I have contacted the company and their financial advisor and of course, they are shocked. -- Ahhh, right -- Clearly, a pump and dump stock scam.
After last week's lull and "spoofed" spams, we thought the spammers had removed user-groups.net from their spamming rolls. But no such luck.

Last week there were three spams promoting "Forex Fund" from www ForexFundOnline com ; and being endorsed by Todd Larsen, Co-op America www ceres.org pub ; Peyton Fleming, Ceres; www coopamerica org ; Kate Abend, Union of Concerned Scientists www ucsusa org
The week March 20 through the 27th showed a marked decrease in stock scam spam, at least to our domains. There were only 82. This coupled with a steep rise in bogus non-spam spam reinforces last week's suspicions that we are deliberately being targeted with false leads. Evidently the spammer (or spammers) discovered our reports and is now running damage control.
While the largest of the pump and dump spammers has removed us from their list, these did get through, with US MedSys Corp. (UMSY) leading the pack with 30 spams. Next in line was Nano SuperLattice Technology (NSLT) who has returned to the ranks with 23 spams. SuperLattice had fallen to almost no spams at one point.
