PayPal fixes phishing hole

By exploiting the flaw, attackers were able to redirect people from a PayPal Web page to an online trap located in South Korea. The page actually has a real PayPal URL, but hosts malicious code that presents a message warning members that their account had been compromised. It then redirects them to a phishing Web site. Cyber threats more targeted

Global cyber attacks are becoming more targeted as web criminals employ increasingly sophisticated techniques, a new report claims.
      Research by security firm MessageLabs found that threats from phishing scammers and virus programmers shifted from more traditional methods to targeted attacks last month, with cyber-criminals becoming more adept at information gathering and attack techniques, including spyware, spam, phishing and viruses.
      The report details virus, spam and phishing activity trends worldwide during the three months to the end of June and claims that the trends towards convergence of threats across different communications channels, such as email, IM and web is continuing. Get the full story

Voice Phishers Dialing for PayPal Dollars

Internet security experts have discovered a new phishing scam that uses voice recordings to pilfer money from PayPal accounts. Beware of phony Comcast e-mails
