Ptah is a $15.00 shareware player from Toth software that can open and view PICT, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, and BMP image files, QuickTime, MPEG, and AVI movie files, and let users quickly manipulate text files. Opening file attachments can be a recurring headache; often, they are improperly or multiply encoded. Rosetta from Toth Software is a $15.00 shareware application that can decode files that have been encoded using the most common encoding methods (BinHex, MacBinary, MIME Base64, uuencode). Where Rosetta shines, is though, are with the fussy files that have been split and need recombined or will not run without segmentation. This mini-application is available on the web or as a download, and offers a way to determine, using how many minutes and seconds of media you have, how much space your compressed file will need.
