eJamming is a Web-based connection that allows anyone with a MIDI instrument (drums, guitars, keyboards, wind controllers, etc.) to play with one another with a minimum of latency (15-70ms) based on location. According to the developer, tests have been conducted between Miami, FL to London with about 70ms delay, "which is easily adapted to."
Sound Byte 2.6.0 turns a Mac into a "cart machine" for playing sound recordings, such as music and special effects. The latest version of Sound Byte adds several new features, including: a large display of the currently playing cart, enlarged hotkey display for better visibility, a hot spot in the Playlist window for dropping recording files, and Tiger bug fixes.
EasyWMA 2.4 updates the WMA to MP3 conversion application, adding AAC encoding (M4A format) and WAV input capability. Other features include drag-and-drop support and batch processing to convert an entire library of WMA files at once. Upgrades from version 2.3 are free.
iPod Updater 2005-09-06 from Apple provides new iPod Software 1.0 for the iPod nano, but contains the same software versions as iPod Updater 2005-06-26. Listening to music, viewing album art, browsing photo collections, and other activities on iPod nanos requires iPod nano Software 1.0.
Pod2Go 1.5 extends the capabilities of all iPods except Shuffles by adding a variety of textual content for later reading. Pod2Go 1.5 adds gas prices, is Tiger compatible, has a new icon, includes many internal rewritten code segments, fixes two bugs, and more. Pod2Go 1.5 requires Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later.
Cast Easy 1.2 is designed to make podcasting mainstream by aiding the creation, publishing, and organization of new and previously published Podcasts. Version 1.2 adds Core Image transitions between modes in the new interface, supports Video and PDF episodes, offers a built-in iTunes preview, and provides iLife integration.
VideoSpace calculates the disk space required for a given duration, codec, frame rate and audio setting. The VideoSpace widget works in both directions calculating time to space or space to time as indicated by the direction of the arrow between the two input areas.
CoverBuddy is an add-on for iTunes that manages music collections by cover art. A new web interface server that browses music collections and controls playback is included with the new version, and Sony PSPs (Playstation Portables) can access a special version of the CoverBuddy web interface which is optimized soley for PSP owners.
MegaSeg is a free upgrade to the DJ and radio automation software package, improving playback performance on certain affected systems and solving an intro-time countdown bug. The update also adds better support for importing music from non-Mac formatted drives and networks, fixes some ID3 tag importing bugs, and adds Simple Finder support for restricted user accounts, among other improvements.
VODcaster is a tool for publishing audio and video podcasts with drag-and-drop support. Podcasts are uploaded to web servers or added to the iTunes Music Store podcast directory, and information is collected without the need to know XML.
