DEVONtechnologies, LLC updates all its commercial applications: the document and information managers DEVONthink Professional and Personal, the Internet research agent and alternative Web browser DEVONagent, and the intelligent notepad application DEVONnote.
DEVONthink Professional 1.2.1 features full screen editing of rich text files with customizable background and foreground colors, allows to manually rearrange the items in the Three Panes view, and recognizes more plain text file types. Previous versions always displayed rich text documents using the documents' colors in full screen mode. In addition, the new version improves CSV (comma separated values) files import, URL handling as well as handling of bugs in Mac OS X's PDF engine. The improved advertisement filter used by the built-in Web browser recognizes and blocks inline advertisements of RSS feeds. The AppleScript support has also been enhanced, some scripts have been overhauled, and the Automator actions have been updated to use DEVONthink Professional's log panel.
DEVONagent 2.0.3 also comes with the improved advertisement filter. The Plugins & Scanners panel highlights groups with special plugins for clarity and shows a help button that links to the according pages in the online help. A number of plugins has been updated as well, most scanner plugins have been optimized, and the Marketing search set has been enhanced. Version 2.0.3 also removes more unimportant words from the list of topics, and improves the URL handling. DEVONthink Personal 1.9.8 "inherits" many improvements from its Professional sibling, for example the support for "bookmarklets", the better advertisement filter, the enhanced full screen mode, and the support for third-party QuickTime file types. Finally, DEVONnote 1.9.1 is a maintenance update that also brings many improvements of the latest releases of DEVONthink to DEVONnote.
All four applications greatly benefit from recent improvements to the underlying technology that make them faster and use less memory. Again, all search operations, AI-based functions such as classify or see-also, as well as many database operations have been sped up. All releases also fix minor bugs and interface glitches, too.
All four applications require Mac OS X 10.3.9 later and a fast Internet connection is strongly recommended for DEVONagent. All updates are immediately available from www.devon-technologies.com. They must be purchased after the evaluation period of 150 (DEVONthink, DEVONnote) or 60 (DEVONagent) hours of non-continuous runtime.
