Need a File Manager That Can Browse Archives on Your MAC OS X? Try Disk Order 1.5.5 with Improved Tabbed Interface.
LikeMac Group has recently released Disk Order 1.5.5, the latest version of a utility for managing files, folders and archives on Macintosh. Featuring its tabbed interface, the application allows users to easily do all possible file operations within a single window with two opposite file lists.
In 1.5.5 LikeMac has added to Disk Order tabs, that are displayed above each of file lists and used to switch between different folder/archive locations with just a click, so that there's no need to browse. Tabs also can give users other benefits.
* For example, the user can make the program to automatically open a separate tab when he/she inserts a CD or connects to a network drive.
* Also Disk Order may be customized to open new tab when some FTP session is started and close it when the FTP is disconnected. And to make the work still easier the application can remeber and restore tabs on quit and startup.
Disk Order is a utility that gives users the ability to manage not only files and folders but archives. Now the user does not have to open separate application when he/she needs to extract some files from an archive. The application allows seamlessly enter and browse archives contents like virtual folders, without extracting all files. In this case compressed files and folders maybe extracted by dragging with mouse or key combination.
In current release Disk Order supports TAR, GZ, BZ2 & ZIP formats. Also, there is the ability to compress files into ZIP archives. The new release allows users to add secure protection for their network and internet connections by supporting FTP with encryption capabilities. Disk Order 1.5.5 supports FTPS (SSL) and SFTP (SSH) doing all security related work in background and allowing users to download and upload files using drag-and-drop making it simply as it should be.
No Mouse? The program differs from other file managers in Macintosh world by its capability to manage files without mouse. The user can customize his own shortcuts to make the application more comfortable. This may be helpful not only for Mac switchers but for notebook owners who dislikes using touchpad when operating files.
Disk Order offers advanced file manager features, such as built-in FTP client, advanced archives support, command line and file previewer.
Disk Order is intended for everyone who needs to make a lot of different file operations in a single application. The ability to copy, move files, launch applications, preview pictures and connect to FTP servers reduces the overhead needed when working on a particular task.
