GraphicConverter Now Updated
GraphicConverter views, edits, converts most image formats
GraphicConverter is probably the longest established and most popular image manipulation shareware program in the history of the Macintosh. It's been popular and widely used since the early Macs and has survived through thick and thin. The original developer, Thorsten Lemke (Germany), has continued to improve and add so many features over the years that the program comes close to rivalling the best commercial programs. Thousands of users consider it their primary graphics program, and the program is found as the only graphics program in many institutions. It's that good.
GraphicConverter started as just that. A shareware utility used to import one graphic file and export it as another. But then Thorsten began to add features; first a few primitive editing tools, then filters and effects, and eventually full scale image manipulation capabilities. Today GraphicConverter imports about 185 graphic file formats, and will save or export them into some 45 different graphic file formats -- including some of the leading edge technologies like LuraWave LWF format. The program's batch conversion capabilities are unparalleled, as are its ability to add thumbnails and icons to batches of files.
